Have you developed a niche area and what is it?
My niche is in transcription services, subtitling and copy typing.
How many clients do you work with now?
I’ve lost count!
Do you work alone or with other VAs/employ someone?
I work with other VA’s and we’re always looking for accurate and experienced home typists.
What has been most difficult thing about growing your business?
Getting clients to pay on time.
Tell us something about a typical day and what kind of work you do?
I never know what is going to happen from one day to the next. Working as a VA can be extremely varied and challenging, which is what I like about it.
What are your favourite applications/gadgets that you couldn’t live without?
NCH Express Scribe, a decent set of Bose headphones and a transcription foot pedal.
What do you think are the most important qualities a VA should have?
They should be able to stick to deadlines and be willing to keep up with the latest technology. They should also be able to say no to a client if they set unreasonable deadlines and set boundaries when it comes to work hours.
